Guest Star: Sharon van der Horst

Sharon van der Horst from South Carolina is on a trajectory that is bound to take her to the top of the NPC figure ranks and on to the professional level very soon. FigureRX first noticed her at last year's NPC Elite Muscle Classic, where we immediately recognized her unique mix of muscle size, genetic structure, cover girl beauty and height (Sharon stands 5'11"). At that point she was not quite ready for the national stage, but over the next few months she streamlined considerably and came in with an etched upper body while taking the overall figure championship at the 2008 NPC Atlantic USA.

But it turns out that Sharon not only has the physique to take her to the top, but she has the hard core attitude and drive as well. We were very impressed with her American Gladiator audition videos which you can see below, as well as the fact that this fitness trainer and swimwear model does a lot of volunteer work in support of endangered species at http://www.myrtlebeachsafari.com/. All of these attributes vaulted her well into the superhero stratosphere that we look for at Team FigureRX.

Sharon will be a Team FigureRX guest star at the NPC Junior USA Championships in North Charleston on May 17th, and she just warmed up for the show with a 2nd place finish in her height class at the NPC Pittsburgh.
