FigureRX Top Reasons to Buy ....

(1) Felicia Romero saves yet another magazine with her flawless stage package on pages 160 and 161. Her pictures from the 2008 California Pro, taken by Terry Goodlad, leap off the page - and her ideal delt caps add just enough muscle to an issue that is sorely lacking in mass. The small photos of other competitors helped too - in all, the Cal Pro had an amazing lineup.

(2) Newly minted IFBB Pro Catherine Holland gets a page ("Target Your Trouble Zone", page 27) to show off her incredible abdominal genetics and conditioning. Next time we'd give her a whole article, and can't wait to see what she does on the pro stage.

(3) Missouri personal trainer and competitor Kate McLin ("Future of Fitness" page 155) was new to us, so we did some research and it turns out she's a training juggernaut who offers up a world of expert information on her web sites (check out http://katemclin.wordpress.com/). Look her up if you're down in Kansas City. Alabama's Sheena Hayes and breakout figure star MarieAnn Newman brighten up the pages as well.

(4) A glimpse of IFBB Fitness Pro Heidi Fletcher, who is not in the magazines nearly enough. She's always jacked and looks her best when highly conditioned - in other words, a great role model for excellence. Gotta love the green outfit (page 52).

(5) Resistance band model Jasmine Corbett, and the timely article (page 104) to help with traveling light now that the airlines are weighing and charging for bags.

And Reasons to Skip This One .....

(1) The whole issue is a bit soft when it comes to muscle and conditioning, especially in the training articles. Bring on those NPC and IFBB stars.

(2) The top ten Hollywood muscle list. Not only has it been done before, but they picked perhaps the worst Jessica Biel photo ever. She looks anorexic!

(3) Glaring typo on the top right of Page 136. We still made the page one of the top five, so check it out for yourself below.
